Taking Care of Your New Vinyl Banner

Vinyl banners are one of the most cost effective ways to get your message across and advertise your products. With low maintenance and high durability, you can continue to use your banner for years to come if cared for properly.

If you have purchased a new banner, or looking to buy one in the future, here are some important tips to care and prolong the life of your banner.

Banner Storage

When your banner is not in use, always roll up your banner with the artwork facing inward. This protects the artwork from potential scratches while in storage. Once rolled up, place your banner in a tube or plastic slip to keep it safely stored.

Never fold your banner, or use rubber bands to store the banner. Doing so will result in visible creases that will not come out, and will diminish the artwork’s quality.

 Displaying Your Banner

If you are installing your banner, ensure that it is tightly secured with bungee cords only. Using a bungee cord will allow the banner to bounce with the wind, while still remaining taut.

Do not use zip ties as it can damage the integrity of your banner, and potentially create tears from having too much strain on the banner.

Choose a location for your banner where it will not be in direct contact with strong gusts of wind.

Cleaning Your Banner

After being in the elements, your banner will need to be occasionally cleaned from dirt and debris. Use a soft, damp cloth with a mild cleaner such as windex, or simply soap and water.

Avoid abrasive sponges and harsh cleaning chemicals, as this can damage the artwork.
